Casey

Casey sent me a text the other day saying I am wearing one of Granny's hats. Then this picture. I teared up. I know it's just a hat. But granny loved hats and gloves and scarves. Casey is a lot like my Mom. I am not always sure if that is good but it's true.
The Princess is a lot like me, I have caught her smelling the food before she eats it, she likes the crunchy fries, she loves the beach.

Random Thoughts

  • I went Christmas shopping on Saturday. It was fun and crowded, but I got some good deals so all in all it was successful.
  • My Mother-in Law asked for Cuddle Duds on her list. (warm underwear) Now I know nothing about this brand so I go to the store and find soft underwear with lace cuddle duds, thermal cuddle duds, print and color heavier weight like pajama cuddle duds the list goes on. You get the idea. Now do I call her and she knows exactly what she is getting or pick one and she can exchange it. ugh. I bought the really cute soft ones with lace because that's the ones I would want. I am sure it was wrong but they were cute.
  • On my Father-in Laws list was house shoes. Now to me this is a very personal taste gift and unless he has been wearing the same style/color/brand everyday I have seen him for the past 6 years, it is really hard when you get there and look. There are boot style, slip on, moccasin, fur lined, plaid, solid, soft, not so soft. Again you get the idea. He didn't get house shoes. ugh.
  • They have a Kuerig coffee pot so they did get the carousel and a box of breakfast blend and a box of cocoa. These are really cool I don't drink coffee and it made me want one. However I would like to see a box of assorted coffees for it. Again which one would someone prefer.

Wednesday

  • The day before a four day weekend. Woo -Hoo I am ready for this one.
  • I think I am missing my old job, I am just feeling a little insecure right now but I know I will be fine.
  • Took the kids and the Princess to Arby's last night, had to get the baby out of the house wet paint and all the furniture in the middle of the room.
  • I had the chicken, swiss and bacon sandwich. I am trying to make myself try different things, it was not my favorite.

Random Thoughts

  • I just saw a picture of my Dad. His pictures always stop me dead in my tracks for a moment.
  • My Mom's pictures make me sad. I miss her more than words could ever say.
  • I have a picture of her in my office. Have had since around the time she passed away.
  • The Princess has new gloves, she loves them and says yook and shows you her hand.
  • The painting at the house is coming right along. No thanks to me. Not purposely but Scott has been doing the painting when I am gone.
  • I hate starting a new job. I am so critical of myself it makes me very uncomfortable to be in a position where no one knows me and I don't know what I am doing. You know they just haven't realized how wonderful I am yet lol.
  • I still haven't been able to tell Christopher the joke. I will try to call him tonight.
  • I think I have a cold, yuck.
  • We went out to eat last night, sometimes I think the poor kids working in the fast food places just need a little more guidance, bless their hearts.
  • My neighbor is offering to take in yet another teenager. They are wonderful people....hey you think they would take mine? No that wouldn't work they would only be next door. I guess I will keep them.
  • I have the ham thawing in my refrigerator, I love to cook.
  • I am going to make some pecan and pumpkin pies. This will be my first time making pecan pie. Hopefully it turns out well.

Random Thoughts

  • We went riding yesterday it was colder than we thought it was going to be but still a lot of fun
  • Saturday we worked around the house Scott is building me some built in book shelves in my living room on either side of our TV he finished the first one. I will have to put up pictures it turned out really good.
  • We are painting the living room too. Did I mention if anyone loves to paint come on by the house?
  • I took the Princess across the street last night the neighbors are overachievers and have their Christmas lights up already. She now says lights. I was impressed she says it very plain.
  • We are having Thanksgiving at Casey's house this year and Christmas at my brother and sister-in-law's house. That will be nice. Not as much for me to do. However Casey did up last night that it would be appreciated if I came out there to help her with the cooking. I have to make the ham.
  • This morning she sent me a text telling me what a great Mom I was, my response Thank you, what did I do right?
  • Karley has a basketball game this evening in Decatur so I get to go watch her play.
  • Brock has one tonight too but his is in Burkburnet so I won't be making that one.
  • I have a new joke for my grandson Christopher, he likes jokes. How does a dinosaur come out of the pool? Wet!
  • I haven't seen my other granddaughters in a couple of weeks. I miss them.

Random Thoughts

  • Tomorrow we take some of the grand kids to Walk with the Dinosaurs. I am excited about that.
  • I was driving to work this morning and my low fuel light came on. Scott had to drive all the way over here to get me some gas. Poor husband.
  • Last night the Princess said two words together. I said where is my favorite and she said right here. Casey didn't believe me but Scott witnessed it.
  • Tonight I am making cheese enchiladas, spanish rice and refried beans. mmmmm.
  • The garage sale has been postponed for 2 weeks. yeah.
  • Talked to my daughter's best childhood friend yesterday. That was nice. He asked for my daughter's number and then after a few minutes he said don't tell her because I want to surprise her, too late I got excited and texted her. He said gaw you are just like a little kid. Well yeah but that's why they all loved me. Right?
  • I have been buying Christmas presents. yesterday I ordered something for Karley that I think I will have to exchange, ugh wrong size. One more reason I like getting started early.

A Lot of Catching Up to Do

  • It's been awhile.
  • The Princess is talking more everyday. Last night she was sitting with me at the table and when someone started to the door to leave she hollered bye! She is too cute
  • Last weekend we did a bike ride for charity Saturday morning and another charity event in Decatur Saturday evening. Long day but a good one. Sunday buying groceries and bathing the dogs. ugh
  • This weekend we are taking Brock and 3 or the grand kids to the American Airline Center to watch Walk With The Dinosaurs. That show is so great. If you get a chance to go, do.
  • My daughter is having a garage sale at the house this weekend. That is hard work.
  • I started a face book account and I was surprised at the people I have found/found me that I have not talked to in a long time.
  • At the bike run Saturday I saw someone I haven't seen in about 20 years. He was a kid the last time I saw him. It is a small world. We both hung out with a less than desirable crowd back then. I bet it's been even longer since my brother saw him. It's amazing how many people you actually just lose over the years.
  • That is a plus to the social networking sites. A minus is it takes away time from current relationships.

Random Thoughts

  • Yesterday we went to Six Flags. We had so much fun, it has been too long since I went last.
  • The Titan is very scary. I thought I am going to scream all the way down this first drop, no it is going so fast and it is so terrifying nothing came out, opened my mouth and nothing.
  • The Tony Hawk ride is pretty cool. We all liked it pretty well. A couple of the guys were not fans of the spinning at the end.
  • I had such an enjoyable time with my son. Life is definitely better with him and I am assuming for him too.
  • The baby calls me "Ma" never had one of the grand kids change my name. I guess we will see if it sticks.
  • There is a rumor that my office will be moved to Decatur. I am loving that rumor.
  • I started on Face book, it's pretty cool.
  • The book I talked about last month by Wally Lamb, turned out to be pretty good. It is called The Day I First Believed. The only thing that I didn't care for was in the middle he switched gears and I felt like I was starting a new book and left hanging on the previous one. But then he was able to merge the two and I felt better. Over all the story was interesting. There are a lot of references to events we can all relate to in some way. Columbine shootings, 9/11 attacks. Then there are references in the other part to President Lincoln's assassination and other things from history that you know about.
  • My daughter turns 28 on Monday. Wow, she is getting old.

Let's Share

The grandchildren are all sick. Nothing like a birthday to bring everyone together and share some germs.
You know having your grandchild in the house with you is different in every way, but when they are sick it's even more so.
The Princess has been throwing up. Now when you think of a cute baby girl who is only one year old throwing up I know you picture a little spit up. No! Rethink that. This is Niagara Falls spewing from this child's face. Eww! Then you have to bath the baby, wash everything, steam clean the carpet(This is where the super clean freak husband and son come in. No one can clean the carpets like they can. You are right guys please do it for us you know we are not worthy of touching that machine. Wink wink.)
When she is finished spewing she wants me. Maybe she just feels calmer with me. Mom is freaking out a little first baby looking evil and spewing every where is a little nerve wracking.
I had to leave her this morning so I could go to work, she was wanting to go with me. That is the part I can't handle.
We took the grandsons who are also sick some Gatorade, soup, apples, plums and grapes. One of the soups my husband bought for them was a chicken soup with Cars shaped pasta. After they ate was when the puking started at their house. Christopher was throwing up chunks of cars. Very funny. Unless you are the one throwing up or cleaning up I guess. That is where it comes in handy not living in the same house with them.
My son got up this morning running a low temp and having a cough and runny nose. The good news is that sounds like a head cold not the swine flu, which by the way for some reason known only to a 12 year old boy he said last week "I wish I could get the Swine Flu", What? "Well then I could stay home from school". Being the type of Mom that I am I think I will use this cold to say something along the lines of Wow you wished for Swine Flu and look you got sick, you better not ever wish that one of us would just die so we would leave you alone.

Turn out the lights, the part is over

This weekend was crazy fun at my house. Saturday the girls worked on the birthday cake all day long. But it turned out so cute. It was a giant lady bug. I will post pictures tomorrow they are still on the camera.
I took care of the baby all day and the other kids brought 5 more of the grandchildren to stay the night with us plus 1 of our grandsons was there with his Mom. So there were 7 grandchildren there at the house, the 2 little ones went to bed and the other 5 went outside with my son and played hide and seek monster with the flash lights.
Yesterday morning I got up and fixed pancakes and bacon for everyone and we all hung out getting ready for the party.
I had my husband take a picture of all the grandchildren that were at the party (8) together, so I can have us a t-shirt made with their picture on it. The 9th grandchild was unable to attend the party but he did make it to the house after the party. I have one grandson who is at that age where he makes goofy faces in all the pictures. This picture was no exception.
There was a pinata at the party, one of my grandsons tried to kill me.
My sister in law made the cutest towel for the Princess she put a hood on it possibly made from a washcloth and she put a lady bug trim on it. I will have to get with her to find out for sure but it was adorable.
Out of all the gifts the Princess got she only received one baby doll. I thought that was odd Casey says she is too little they don't start getting baby dolls until they are about 3.
My brother and his wife were not able to come to the party. I missed having them there.
I will post pictures of the party and the one of the grandchildren.

Yesterday ,Today, Tomorrow

  • Yesterday the baby tried taking some steps. She is also standing alone for several minutes.
  • Yesterday I started the new strengths on some of my medicines and I felt a little better. So I am encouraged.
  • Yesterday my husband went to the doctor and they put him on a weight loss program. He has a medicine that he takes, some vitamin supplements and all the food he is supposed to eat for the first 10 days.
  • Yesterday my boss went to the doctor and they started him on a medicine to stop smoking.
  • Today I am thinking I need a new place to live and work. The next few weeks could be interesting at home and work.
  • Today my husband got tickets for the Taylor Swift concert tonight for my daughter's birthday. He was quite the Hero around the house this morning. I will have the baby tonight so the girls can go.
  • Tomorrow is the baby's first birthday. Wow it has been a year. Unbelievable.
  • Tomorrow I will have 6 of my grandchildren. Lots of fun+ lots of work=Very rewarding.

Random Thoughts

  • We had a very good time on the trip to Shreveport.
  • We missed the rain except for a few sprinkles on the way back.
  • All of us girls attended a Taste of Home Cooking Show, it was a lot of fun.
  • One of the girls won $189. on the penny slots.
  • The rooms were nice but the customer service was not very good at all, the food was way over priced and mediocre at best.
  • We almost died during the ride to the Civic Center, took a shuttle from the hotel. Christine was not a good driver at all. She almost ran down a pedestrian and then got mad at him said he was trying to get killed. It does make for an interesting story though, she was entertaining. We were glad to see a different driver on the return trip.
  • This weekend is the Princess's birthday party. So on Saturday I am going to get some of the grand kids and have them spend the night and go to the party Sunday. I will probably have 6 of the grand kids Saturday night. That will be fun. I still haven't decided what to cook for dinner. I can make pancakes for breakfast Sunday.

Random Thoughts

  • I had 4 of my grandchildren last weekend. That was a lot of fun and a lot of work.
  • 2 of my daughters had birthdays, one turned 15 the other 24.
  • Another daughter has a birthday this Thursday.
  • We are riding the bikes to Shreveport this weekend, I am excited about that. Some of us girls are going to a Taste of Home Cooking Show while we are there. I am really looking forward to that.
  • I wear boots almost every day to work but today I am wearing sandals. It feels really strange I never wear sandals to work.
  • Zella still ends up waking me up at least a couple of times a night. When I wake up I always have a tough time going back to sleep. I am going to have to start drugging the dog or me.
  • It has been raining for 5 days pretty steady most of the time. It has been great the kids and grand kids have been able to play outside in the rain and they love that. I took the princess out last night and she walked around in the wet grass. That was always one of my favorite things to do as a kid.
  • My idea of a great life would be to not have to work and have a big house so my grand kids could be there all the time.
  • Both of my grandsons have dental work that has to be done. One of them needs quite a bit of work done. Poor guys.

Random Thoughts

  • Breakfast with Grandparents is this Friday. I am very excited about that. I get excited about that every year.
  • The Princess is gone to her Dad's for a couple of days. What am I going to do when they move out? I miss her terribly when she is not there.
  • I got a new broom a few weeks ago. Picked it up at Bed Bath and beyond. I used it again last night I really like that broom.
  • Zella came into the bathroom this morning the roll of toilet paper had fallen on the floor ( I know I know put it on the holder and that can't happen) she picked up the roll and walked out of the bathroom and left me stranded there. SCOTT SCOTT wake up and bring me a roll of toilet paper. That dog is different. She just walked out totally ignoring my pleas. Why would she take the toilet paper?
  • The kids are hearing from their biological Mother again. I worry about them getting hurt. Our daughter said she should pay her child support because her pictures on face book look like they went to Disney Land again this year. What do you say to that? Not what you want to say that's for sure.

Biker Babe

  • She has started playing with my boots. How cute.

  • Well the Princess is a biker babe now. She has her mean face on for effect, you know she never looks like that any other time.
  • Had a shrimp boil at the house on Saturday. Hmmmm that was the best.
  • Went to Red Lobster this weekend, they have endless shrimp right now. The new Terriyaki Shrimp is by far the greatest. Everyone at the table was loving it.
  • Tonight is the first football game, I am excited for him but I have to sit through football games... yuck.
  • We have so many birthdays this month, 5 more days I have one turning 15, in 6 days one turning 24. The princess will be 1 on the 26th.
  • I am taking the kids to Six Flags in a few weeks. They have never been to Fright Fest it will be fun.
  • A lot of us are riding on the bikes to Shreveport this month. I am excited about that, a little apprehensive too. That will be a long ride.
  • I got three books for my birthday and although I liked them all I have to recommend Lime Trees Don't Grow Orange. It was really good.
  • I bought a new book this weekend. By my favorite author Wally Lamb. So far it is very good. The characters are employed at the Columbine High School and the book takes place during the time of the shootings. I will let you know the final verdict as soon as I finish it.

3 Days in Kindergarten is Long Enough

Poor grandson. He started Kindergarten Monday. Today he had a melt down. I guess 3 days of that is plenty for anyone. His Daddy said he was fine until they got to the school and he refused to get out of the truck so his daddy drug him out of the truck and took him inside and his teacher had to pull him off his Dad. Aww. I feel bad for him.

When I started school I did alright until one day they had us all playing with play-doh and I had never played with that before and the smell of all of that was making me sick so I was standing at the door to the classroom and I thought I know where my house is and I need my Mom, so I ran they caught me about a 1/2 block away.

If I had not been so shy I would have told the teacher I was sick and my Mom probably would have come and got me.

Korbin is shy like I was. Poor little guy.

Freak Accident

There was a freak accident in Bridgeport yesterday. A couple of girls training for cross country are running downtown and the awning off the front of the building collapses on top of them. One is care flighted and the other is pronounced dead. Both high school seniors. Oh my. How terrible for those families and the classmates.

What could possibly be the odds of this happening. It made me think of those Final Destination Movies. Is that possible?

Random Thoughts

Well we went to counseling last night. I don't know how I feel about it completely. I said all I could ask for is a little bit of hope. I am not sure if I received that or not. I am afraid that I waited to long. That the damage that has been done in our family is too much to turn around. I am very afraid of that. That is not what I want.

The counselor gave us some tips and said our son has too much control over our house. I already knew that.

Hopefully the tips will work.

He said that we have no reason to trust our son at this point and that is very much how I feel. He said he thought eventually we would trust him again. I hope that is true.

I am thinking about taking the grandsons to the Pate Museum this weekend. Old cars and planes and military vehicles. I think they would love it and the temperature is only supposed to be 89 degrees so an outside activity would be bearable.

Now my daughter is talking about moving out of our house with the Princess. I want her to be independent but I also don't want her to rush into things.

I received a thing in the mail yesterday to subscribe to Highlights Magazine and the magazine for kids a little younger. Those are the ages of my grandsons and I always loved Highlights Magazine. I wanted to do that for them, but 30 dollars a piece. Wow that is expensive for a magazine.

I am reading "Heroic Measures" right now. It's the book my husband got me for my birthday. It's okay I would not say it's great or even one of my favorites but I am almost finished with it so I can go on to the next book.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME

My husband sent me these flowers and came to eat lunch with me.

Weekend News/ New School Year

This was taken Saturday while riding up around Illinois Bend. We had a lot of fun. I stopped and saw my grandsons and gave them candy and fruit and t-shirts. Let them see all the bikes. There were twenty bikes total.

Out of the 20 bikes there were only 5 women. I was amazed. Where are all the wives. My husband said some wives don't think it's fun and that I don't think like most women.

The kids started school today. I wanted to cry when he got out of the car headed off to 7th grade. Then I was reminded that our baby girl headed off to high school this morning. I did want to cry then. How did this happen? How are they so old?

The princess started daycare today too.. I am going to cry.

I received flowers for my birthday a few minutes ago. I love getting flowers. I know they are waste of money but if you are going to waste money it might as well be on something like flowers for your wife.

After our ride we all went to Sweetie Pie's to eat lunch.....that is the best food ever. I had a rib eye and lots of bread and salad with hot bacon dressing. That is the lick.

Friday

  • I went with my daughters last night to run at the track. I really did a little better than I thought I would. Definitely going to do that more.
  • It was 70 degrees when I left town this morning. Am I a little sad summer is coming to an end...yes!
  • My daughter texted yesterday that their dog had to be shot because she bit a kid. How scary all the way around.
  • I went to buy some groceries at Albertson's last night I did not know they were doing the pots and pans promotion again. For every so much you spend you get stamps and after you get so many you exchange them for pots and pans. I have done this a couple of times over the years each time I get a new large pot for free. I am still using the last one I got many years ago. I was so excited.
  • We went after work yesterday and bought our leathers for the bike. We got a really good deal and met some great people in the process. Win- win.
  • The Princess was so happy to see me walk in the door last night it was the best feeling....then I realized she was happier that I had a Sonic drink in my hand than she was that it was me ugh.
  • I think Sunday some of the girls will be at the house with some of the grand kids. Now that is my idea of a good time.
  • My new skillets that I ordered come in today. That is exciting. I said the two youngest kids aren't allowed to use them. They are still in mode of cook something fast so it must be on high heat (everything) which is not good on my skillets.

Random Thoughts

  • The princess wearing Mimi's glasses.

I am going running with the girls tonight. Let's be honest they will be running, me probably not as much but I am going to try.

I love the new back door. But the pets don't have a clue about what that pet door is for.

The neighbor told us about her experience with a pet door, when a skunk got inside at night and couldn't get back out.

We start counseling Monday night with our son. I hope when we leave there we have hope that our lives will be more peaceful.

My birthday is on Monday. I love birthday's. We have a friend his birthday is the same day. He is the only one I have ever known with the same birthday.

We are going riding on Saturday probably 10 or 12 bikes. Should be good times. I want my grandsons to be able to see that maybe their Mom will bring them into town so they can see all the bikes.

The princess will start daycare on Monday. I don't like the idea at all. I want her to be old enough to talk before she is left in daycare.

I made a roast with potatoes and onions, mmmh it was so good. Why do I not cook like that more often. My Mother made a roast at least a few times a month.

I go to the new Endocrinologist in a few weeks. I have high hopes for this doctor. I don't want him to let me down.

Deep Shit Cattle Co.

We went for a ride Saturday. had to take the above picture of the Deep Shit Cattle Co. it was so cute. We went down to Stephenville and ate breakfast, around through Hico where I met a new friend. This little black pug. She was so adorable.

This is where Pepaw bought the Princess a leather vest and some patches, I will post pictures of that as soon as he gets the patches put on for her.
We left Hico and rode up to Granbury and through Weatherford and back home. It was a long day on the bike but it was a lot of fun. I got pretty sunburned but it's okay now. He is already planning the ride for this weekend.

I know I know I am a Slacker

The birthday party was a huge success. Water slide and hot dogs and lots of presents. The boys were so happy. I am happy when the kids are happy. The princess preferred her little water mat. There was so much dirt in that water slide by the time they finished I thought it was a mud pit.

My friend that I never get to see was able to come to the party. That was awesome.

I haven't gotten with the boys to do their thank you cards. That must be done this week.

Random Thoughts

  • Saturday we went to Dallas to an estate sale. The lady that was having the sale was soo mean, one lady said I live down the road and I want this but I don't have any cash with me only my debit card. The lady says I don't have a portable ATM, why don't you borrow money from your friend, she answers she doesn't have any cash either. "then what are you doing here?" That is when I left I don't like hateful people. Can't really deal with that. We went to the mall, I really don't like the mall. I did get a couple of cute outfits for the Princess and started on the boys birthday presents.
  • Went riding on the bike yesterday. That was a ton of fun. Stopped and visited the boys, went on up to Muenster to see my daughter at work. Back around to Jacksboro visited with my Father-in-law. Then dinner and back home.
  • Gave the dogs a bath after I got home. The are so soft and pretty after a bath and they smell so much better.
  • Zella woke me up at 5 this morning. ugh.
  • 5 more days until the birthday party. I am really excited about that.

Woo-Hoo Weekend

Zella now sleeps on her bed in our room. So far that is working well, now she knows is one of us.

It started thundering a little while ago. I love the thunder, Zella not so much she is scared to death.

Notice her collar says Bad to the Bone, our vet said this is a joke right? Because she is soft to the core. (she is right) but don't tell our cats they have a healthy fear of that gynormous dog.

I am headed to Dallas today, who knows what I will find.

I talked to a friend yesterday I haven't talked to in a while. That is always nice. But this time was especially nice.

  • Friday the end of the workweek. Yes.
  • I am going to go see my grandsons and get the invitations to their party addressed.
  • My daughter has strep throat. I hate that for her.
  • I hope the baby does not get sick.
  • Zella slept in our room last night, the vet says she was lonely and bored so she was deciding to eat all the DVDs
  • Maybe it was right, she did not eat anything last night.
  • I pictured my boots in pieces.
  • I would have killed her.
  • Our system is down, on the last day of the month.

Wednesday

  • I found the door I wanted on Craigslist to replace our backdoor. It was a great deal, I told my husband if our door is this size we should get this. He went and picked it up........... That's not what size our door is ugh! So, I have a great back door with built in doggy door for sale at a reasonable price.

  • Zella ate more DVDs. This is not cute anymore. ha ha

  • One of them she ate was my favorite. The original The Borrower's. I love that movie.

  • I bought The Changeling I was going to watch it last night but I got side tracked playing Brain Age on my DS. I just opened it last night. My brain age is 69. I did not have to take a test to know that.

Pepaw's Princess

Our neighbor gave us a little rocking chair when Pepaw's Princess came along. It was very old and needed some love. Pepaw sanded down the rocker, repainted it and made little slats to replace the old seat. I think the princess approves.

Tuesday

  • Remember when the electrician came by to bid on the job? Imagine my happy face when he came back last night! Now imagine my face when he said I am just showing this guy what you want done and hopefully he can get to it next week! Seriously!
  • My neighbor bought me some of those hair things that look all fancy when you put them in. I will have to post pictures can't remember what they are called. She is so good to me.
  • My husband's dog ate the WII controllers last night. Life for a pet lover is wonderful, at this point my dogs can't be in trouble- his dog has done enough damage to last at least 6 months. Rosie, Sophie if Zella keeps this up it's a green light for y'all. lol
  • The rent house is rented. Yes.
  • I bought the baby a new toy, a mat that you hook to the water hose and water sprays up through little holes, she likes it.
  • My son has his athletic parents meeting in a couple of weeks. Poor thing they are going to kill him he is sooo out of shape.

Wise County Old Settler's Reunion

Every year, the last week of July the Old Settler's Reunion is held in Decatur, Texas. Thursday night we all went and took the grand kids. It was a lot of fun as usual. Watching them ride rides and play games they had a good time. On Friday we went and hung out at a friends cabin ate some great bar- b -que and played some games on the midway. But the best part of the evening was the concert that night. No Justice came on the stage at 11:30 pm and we had a blast. Dancing with my husband and my son. No Justice is an awesome band one of my favorites and after the show Steve Rice (lead singer) took time out to talk to us let us snap some pictures and signed my daughter's t-shirt. What a great guy.

Vacation

  • Vacation was great. The baby loved it she is definitely related to me.
  • Her Mom got mad at me for letting her taste everything, hermit crabs, snails, shells etc.
  • She loved the ocean water, the taste!
  • My son complained that we weren't letting him even be on vacation because he was still having to do everything like he wasn't on vacation. When asked like what he stated brushing my teeth and brushing my hair. What?
  • My daughter was stung by a jellyfish. It was pretty bad. But she is a trooper, she was back in the water the next day. Afraid but there. You go girl.
  • I finished a book while there, that was nice. Don't get a chance to read as much as I would like.
  • My husband and my brother did some awesome cooking.

Short Weekend

Wow this weekend flew by. Made a trip to Abilene to visit my cousin. He is in a nursing home there. I loved that nursing home, it was old but it did not smell bad and the people seemed happy and it had a really nice outside area. I want to quit my job and go live there.
We were able to visit with quite a few members of the family and it was just really nice.
Sunday I hung out around the house did a little cleaning, bathed my dogs they looked beautiful and felt so soft. My husband bought me some oatmeal shampoo and I was very pleased with the results.
I cleaned out the refrigerator yuck what a terrible job.
We bought my grand daughter a bouncy toy. She absolutely loves it. I have never seen her happier.

FRIDAY!!!!!!!!!

Okay I guess this week I am a little elated that it is Friday. I don't really know why. It has not been a bad week I am just ready for the weekend. Tomorrow morning we will be leaving out to drive to Abilene for the day, going to visit a cousin. It will be a long day but it should be a lot of fun too.
Yesterday I looked at the lost pet section on Petfinder.com and saw an add for a lost Shih-Tzu in the same area where I adopted mine. I went home and called her Oreo all evening, I am not seeing any recognition but what if I am wrong and I have some one's lost beloved pet. So this morning I sent an e-mail requesting pictures etc. Hopefully it is not my Rosie.
The rent house is almost ready to be rented again. Woo-hoo.
I had a dream last night that Uncle Carl and Aunt Dathan were on TV on the Price is Right. I don't watch that show and it did not look like them but for some reason I knew it was them. What could that possibly mean?
I also dreamed I was at some kind of flea market and my daughter bought a very nice coat that I thought cost $600.00 ( I know I know a very nice coat) but imagine my pleasant surprise when she said she only paid $298.00 for it. First if my daughter can afford either of those prices for a coat I hope she is sharing the wealth, second why does my subconscious care about that? I am just asking.

Thursday Thoughts

  • My in-laws came over to go to dinner with us last night, it was nice. We had Mexican food.
  • My husband picked up my new patio chairs and table, I love them.
  • The electrician came by and gave us a quote for the work I need done. His company contracts for my husband's company so he tries to stay in good with my husband but I think he undercharged so I am going to pay him more. I mean I want a good deal but I want it to be a fair deal too.
  • The kids are not able to go on the mission trip to New Mexico this year, not enough room at the inn. I have mixed feelings about that. They are my kids so I want them out of the house and having new experiences but they are my kids so I want them home so that even though they drive me crazy I know they are safe.
  • I am going to order that new back door this evening, no matter what, that will be done.

Holiday over

Okay a 3 day weekend is wonderful, i don't want to imply that it's not but I was so tired after this weekend.

We went on a bike run Saturday for the first time. That was a lot of fun it should did start to get hot by the time we headed home though. Breakfast at Denney's before the ride. What could be better?

Runaway Bay fireworks is fun every year. Maybe just because it's what we have done for years I don't know.

Wildcatters Ranch in Graham was a very nice place. Saw Josh Abbott and Wade Bowin and there were nice fireworks there as well. I did discover though that I may be too old to get home after midnight and then work the next day. I am just saying it's possible.

I am having some electrical work done at my house, well that is if I can get a good referral for someone to do the work at a good price. I am in home improvement mode right now. I like it, instant visible results of your work. I am also wanting to do granite counter tops and new tile, those will have to wait a little longer.

They put on the new roof day before yesterday, it is very pretty. Darker color shingles this time I really like it. I want to go with a metal roof eventually though. Yesterday they started on the rent house roof. I drove by thinking to myself "Why are all of these men hanging out on the lawn? Oh yeah the roofers I knew that. Why aren't they on the roof and not the lawn? Slackers. It seemed like an awful lot of men for one roof.

My Week

I did not post anything yesterday because my Internet connection was out all day. Which got me thinking about all that rely on the Internet for. I seriously could not do any work, could not get on to the network, email, scan to network folders. I was just amazed at the dependency. I almost don't remember how to look up a phone number or a place of business unless I go straight to my computer. My children aren't well versed in using a phone book. They can use my space and face book. Are phone books going to be one of those things that we have to say " Well when I was your age we had a book we had to find the number and or address in." ha-ha.

I am also looking into bio identical hormones. If anyone has any suggestions or comments on that it would be appreciated. It has to be hormone related nothing else in my life has changed.

Let me just say those little dogs I adopted are the best. I guess I am not just a one dog person because I am definitely bonding with these two. Rosie is black and white and Sophie is cream and tan. They are so well behaved and I am lucky to have them.
I heard about a couple I know that are going through a tough time. Apparently she has been seeing or at least talking inappropriately to another man and her husband found out. That is a a bad position to be in and my heart goes out to them.
I am off work tomorrow woo-hoo. I love holidays. I have absolutley no plan for tomorrow, that feels pretty good.

Father's Day

My Dad passed away when I was 13. I have some memories since I was older but I don't have any memories of Father's Day. The only perspective I have on Father's Day is from my children with their Father or as the wife to the Father in Law. My kids and I are taking my son in law my husband and hopefully my father in law to Red Lobster to eat on Sunday and the girls are making their Dad a cake (golf themed of course). Did my Dad like seafood? I know he liked catfish, I remember him catching and cleaning a lot of them.
My dad loved to go fishing and camping. I mean loved it. He died while out at the lake fishing. I wish I had known him better been able to have a relationship as an adult with him. My life would have been a lot different, better/ worse who knows. I know different for sure.
I watch my husband with our kids. I don't always agree with how he does things but I know that he loves them and he is a great father. A lot more hands on than any other man I know. I hope that our children know him as a person not just a Daddy.

Random Thoughts

  • My daughter has a basketball game tonight I hope we win.
  • She loves basketball.
  • I would rather watch basketball than a lot of other sports so it works for both of us.
  • We have tickets to go see Josh Abbott and Wade Bowen next month , I am excited about that. Maybe the kids will be on their best behaviour until then so I will let them go.
  • The estimate came in yesterday for the new roof on my house. Let's get this done I am ready.
  • I had a dream last night that my Mother was alive and I heard her talking. I don't know why I did not listen to a friend who told me record some conversations with her because you will need to hear that voice.
  • I am an orphan and I don't deal well with that. Every time I see a little old lady I want to take her home. It's like seeing a puppy or a kitten. "aww I want one of those. " I miss my Mom terribly.
  • The word orphan conjures up images of young children without parents, I am not really young.

Dog Days of Summer

Baby my pomeranian, she was 15 years old.
  • My husband is a good husband. I am glad I can say that.

  • Does anyone have a 12 yeard old boy they arent threatening to kill?

  • Do I want to adopt a dog or not, I am really in a debate with myself over this. I had a dog had to put her to sleep earlier this year. But until her I had never been a dog person but I miss that connection. Would I have that connection with any other dog? Am I a one dog person? ugh

  • My husband has an Olde English Bulldog, bless her heart she just never looks happy. I think she is misunderstood, she looks mean but she is afraid of everything.

Random thoughts

  • I bought a black car, black looks dirty most of the time.

  • I do love the car though, really love that car.

  • I am having some junk hauled away from my house. It feels very liberating to get that stuff gone.

  • I have a rent house that is empty and needs some repair and cleaning. yuck. I am not liking the landlord role.

  • Hailstorms messed up the roof on both of the houses we are trying to get those repaired final adjuster came by yesterday, now we are cooking with gas.

  • I am eagerly awaiting Friday to attend the Dane Cook show. I love him.

  • Not so eagerly awaiting Monday when I head to the dentist for a cleaning.

  • I just found out that my ex-husbands cousin died. I was very close to him when I was married to his cousin but I haven't seen him in probably 15 years so I am sad but in a detached sort of way.

Random thoughts

  • I am thinking about starting a family reunion for my Dad's side of the family. I am also thinking this could be overwhelming, stressful and maybe not the smartest thing I have thought of doing.

  • I know it's not the dumbest thing I have ever done, ha-ha.

  • I need some input on ways to begin, the family is very spread out and have lost touch with each other.

  • Having children and grandchildren and or just getting older and losing my parents, something is making me what that connection. Maybe a combination of all.
