3 Days in Kindergarten is Long Enough

Poor grandson. He started Kindergarten Monday. Today he had a melt down. I guess 3 days of that is plenty for anyone. His Daddy said he was fine until they got to the school and he refused to get out of the truck so his daddy drug him out of the truck and took him inside and his teacher had to pull him off his Dad. Aww. I feel bad for him.

When I started school I did alright until one day they had us all playing with play-doh and I had never played with that before and the smell of all of that was making me sick so I was standing at the door to the classroom and I thought I know where my house is and I need my Mom, so I ran they caught me about a 1/2 block away.

If I had not been so shy I would have told the teacher I was sick and my Mom probably would have come and got me.

Korbin is shy like I was. Poor little guy.

Freak Accident

There was a freak accident in Bridgeport yesterday. A couple of girls training for cross country are running downtown and the awning off the front of the building collapses on top of them. One is care flighted and the other is pronounced dead. Both high school seniors. Oh my. How terrible for those families and the classmates.

What could possibly be the odds of this happening. It made me think of those Final Destination Movies. Is that possible?

Random Thoughts

Well we went to counseling last night. I don't know how I feel about it completely. I said all I could ask for is a little bit of hope. I am not sure if I received that or not. I am afraid that I waited to long. That the damage that has been done in our family is too much to turn around. I am very afraid of that. That is not what I want.

The counselor gave us some tips and said our son has too much control over our house. I already knew that.

Hopefully the tips will work.

He said that we have no reason to trust our son at this point and that is very much how I feel. He said he thought eventually we would trust him again. I hope that is true.

I am thinking about taking the grandsons to the Pate Museum this weekend. Old cars and planes and military vehicles. I think they would love it and the temperature is only supposed to be 89 degrees so an outside activity would be bearable.

Now my daughter is talking about moving out of our house with the Princess. I want her to be independent but I also don't want her to rush into things.

I received a thing in the mail yesterday to subscribe to Highlights Magazine and the magazine for kids a little younger. Those are the ages of my grandsons and I always loved Highlights Magazine. I wanted to do that for them, but 30 dollars a piece. Wow that is expensive for a magazine.

I am reading "Heroic Measures" right now. It's the book my husband got me for my birthday. It's okay I would not say it's great or even one of my favorites but I am almost finished with it so I can go on to the next book.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME

My husband sent me these flowers and came to eat lunch with me.

Weekend News/ New School Year

This was taken Saturday while riding up around Illinois Bend. We had a lot of fun. I stopped and saw my grandsons and gave them candy and fruit and t-shirts. Let them see all the bikes. There were twenty bikes total.

Out of the 20 bikes there were only 5 women. I was amazed. Where are all the wives. My husband said some wives don't think it's fun and that I don't think like most women.

The kids started school today. I wanted to cry when he got out of the car headed off to 7th grade. Then I was reminded that our baby girl headed off to high school this morning. I did want to cry then. How did this happen? How are they so old?

The princess started daycare today too.. I am going to cry.

I received flowers for my birthday a few minutes ago. I love getting flowers. I know they are waste of money but if you are going to waste money it might as well be on something like flowers for your wife.

After our ride we all went to Sweetie Pie's to eat lunch.....that is the best food ever. I had a rib eye and lots of bread and salad with hot bacon dressing. That is the lick.

Friday

  • I went with my daughters last night to run at the track. I really did a little better than I thought I would. Definitely going to do that more.
  • It was 70 degrees when I left town this morning. Am I a little sad summer is coming to an end...yes!
  • My daughter texted yesterday that their dog had to be shot because she bit a kid. How scary all the way around.
  • I went to buy some groceries at Albertson's last night I did not know they were doing the pots and pans promotion again. For every so much you spend you get stamps and after you get so many you exchange them for pots and pans. I have done this a couple of times over the years each time I get a new large pot for free. I am still using the last one I got many years ago. I was so excited.
  • We went after work yesterday and bought our leathers for the bike. We got a really good deal and met some great people in the process. Win- win.
  • The Princess was so happy to see me walk in the door last night it was the best feeling....then I realized she was happier that I had a Sonic drink in my hand than she was that it was me ugh.
  • I think Sunday some of the girls will be at the house with some of the grand kids. Now that is my idea of a good time.
  • My new skillets that I ordered come in today. That is exciting. I said the two youngest kids aren't allowed to use them. They are still in mode of cook something fast so it must be on high heat (everything) which is not good on my skillets.

Random Thoughts

  • The princess wearing Mimi's glasses.

I am going running with the girls tonight. Let's be honest they will be running, me probably not as much but I am going to try.

I love the new back door. But the pets don't have a clue about what that pet door is for.

The neighbor told us about her experience with a pet door, when a skunk got inside at night and couldn't get back out.

We start counseling Monday night with our son. I hope when we leave there we have hope that our lives will be more peaceful.

My birthday is on Monday. I love birthday's. We have a friend his birthday is the same day. He is the only one I have ever known with the same birthday.

We are going riding on Saturday probably 10 or 12 bikes. Should be good times. I want my grandsons to be able to see that maybe their Mom will bring them into town so they can see all the bikes.

The princess will start daycare on Monday. I don't like the idea at all. I want her to be old enough to talk before she is left in daycare.

I made a roast with potatoes and onions, mmmh it was so good. Why do I not cook like that more often. My Mother made a roast at least a few times a month.

I go to the new Endocrinologist in a few weeks. I have high hopes for this doctor. I don't want him to let me down.

Deep Shit Cattle Co.

We went for a ride Saturday. had to take the above picture of the Deep Shit Cattle Co. it was so cute. We went down to Stephenville and ate breakfast, around through Hico where I met a new friend. This little black pug. She was so adorable.

This is where Pepaw bought the Princess a leather vest and some patches, I will post pictures of that as soon as he gets the patches put on for her.
We left Hico and rode up to Granbury and through Weatherford and back home. It was a long day on the bike but it was a lot of fun. I got pretty sunburned but it's okay now. He is already planning the ride for this weekend.

I know I know I am a Slacker

The birthday party was a huge success. Water slide and hot dogs and lots of presents. The boys were so happy. I am happy when the kids are happy. The princess preferred her little water mat. There was so much dirt in that water slide by the time they finished I thought it was a mud pit.

My friend that I never get to see was able to come to the party. That was awesome.

I haven't gotten with the boys to do their thank you cards. That must be done this week.

Random Thoughts

  • Saturday we went to Dallas to an estate sale. The lady that was having the sale was soo mean, one lady said I live down the road and I want this but I don't have any cash with me only my debit card. The lady says I don't have a portable ATM, why don't you borrow money from your friend, she answers she doesn't have any cash either. "then what are you doing here?" That is when I left I don't like hateful people. Can't really deal with that. We went to the mall, I really don't like the mall. I did get a couple of cute outfits for the Princess and started on the boys birthday presents.
  • Went riding on the bike yesterday. That was a ton of fun. Stopped and visited the boys, went on up to Muenster to see my daughter at work. Back around to Jacksboro visited with my Father-in-law. Then dinner and back home.
  • Gave the dogs a bath after I got home. The are so soft and pretty after a bath and they smell so much better.
  • Zella woke me up at 5 this morning. ugh.
  • 5 more days until the birthday party. I am really excited about that.

Woo-Hoo Weekend

Zella now sleeps on her bed in our room. So far that is working well, now she knows is one of us.

It started thundering a little while ago. I love the thunder, Zella not so much she is scared to death.

Notice her collar says Bad to the Bone, our vet said this is a joke right? Because she is soft to the core. (she is right) but don't tell our cats they have a healthy fear of that gynormous dog.

I am headed to Dallas today, who knows what I will find.

I talked to a friend yesterday I haven't talked to in a while. That is always nice. But this time was especially nice.
