Let's Share

The grandchildren are all sick. Nothing like a birthday to bring everyone together and share some germs.
You know having your grandchild in the house with you is different in every way, but when they are sick it's even more so.
The Princess has been throwing up. Now when you think of a cute baby girl who is only one year old throwing up I know you picture a little spit up. No! Rethink that. This is Niagara Falls spewing from this child's face. Eww! Then you have to bath the baby, wash everything, steam clean the carpet(This is where the super clean freak husband and son come in. No one can clean the carpets like they can. You are right guys please do it for us you know we are not worthy of touching that machine. Wink wink.)
When she is finished spewing she wants me. Maybe she just feels calmer with me. Mom is freaking out a little first baby looking evil and spewing every where is a little nerve wracking.
I had to leave her this morning so I could go to work, she was wanting to go with me. That is the part I can't handle.
We took the grandsons who are also sick some Gatorade, soup, apples, plums and grapes. One of the soups my husband bought for them was a chicken soup with Cars shaped pasta. After they ate was when the puking started at their house. Christopher was throwing up chunks of cars. Very funny. Unless you are the one throwing up or cleaning up I guess. That is where it comes in handy not living in the same house with them.
My son got up this morning running a low temp and having a cough and runny nose. The good news is that sounds like a head cold not the swine flu, which by the way for some reason known only to a 12 year old boy he said last week "I wish I could get the Swine Flu", What? "Well then I could stay home from school". Being the type of Mom that I am I think I will use this cold to say something along the lines of Wow you wished for Swine Flu and look you got sick, you better not ever wish that one of us would just die so we would leave you alone.

Turn out the lights, the part is over

This weekend was crazy fun at my house. Saturday the girls worked on the birthday cake all day long. But it turned out so cute. It was a giant lady bug. I will post pictures tomorrow they are still on the camera.
I took care of the baby all day and the other kids brought 5 more of the grandchildren to stay the night with us plus 1 of our grandsons was there with his Mom. So there were 7 grandchildren there at the house, the 2 little ones went to bed and the other 5 went outside with my son and played hide and seek monster with the flash lights.
Yesterday morning I got up and fixed pancakes and bacon for everyone and we all hung out getting ready for the party.
I had my husband take a picture of all the grandchildren that were at the party (8) together, so I can have us a t-shirt made with their picture on it. The 9th grandchild was unable to attend the party but he did make it to the house after the party. I have one grandson who is at that age where he makes goofy faces in all the pictures. This picture was no exception.
There was a pinata at the party, one of my grandsons tried to kill me.
My sister in law made the cutest towel for the Princess she put a hood on it possibly made from a washcloth and she put a lady bug trim on it. I will have to get with her to find out for sure but it was adorable.
Out of all the gifts the Princess got she only received one baby doll. I thought that was odd Casey says she is too little they don't start getting baby dolls until they are about 3.
My brother and his wife were not able to come to the party. I missed having them there.
I will post pictures of the party and the one of the grandchildren.

Yesterday ,Today, Tomorrow

  • Yesterday the baby tried taking some steps. She is also standing alone for several minutes.
  • Yesterday I started the new strengths on some of my medicines and I felt a little better. So I am encouraged.
  • Yesterday my husband went to the doctor and they put him on a weight loss program. He has a medicine that he takes, some vitamin supplements and all the food he is supposed to eat for the first 10 days.
  • Yesterday my boss went to the doctor and they started him on a medicine to stop smoking.
  • Today I am thinking I need a new place to live and work. The next few weeks could be interesting at home and work.
  • Today my husband got tickets for the Taylor Swift concert tonight for my daughter's birthday. He was quite the Hero around the house this morning. I will have the baby tonight so the girls can go.
  • Tomorrow is the baby's first birthday. Wow it has been a year. Unbelievable.
  • Tomorrow I will have 6 of my grandchildren. Lots of fun+ lots of work=Very rewarding.

Random Thoughts

  • We had a very good time on the trip to Shreveport.
  • We missed the rain except for a few sprinkles on the way back.
  • All of us girls attended a Taste of Home Cooking Show, it was a lot of fun.
  • One of the girls won $189. on the penny slots.
  • The rooms were nice but the customer service was not very good at all, the food was way over priced and mediocre at best.
  • We almost died during the ride to the Civic Center, took a shuttle from the hotel. Christine was not a good driver at all. She almost ran down a pedestrian and then got mad at him said he was trying to get killed. It does make for an interesting story though, she was entertaining. We were glad to see a different driver on the return trip.
  • This weekend is the Princess's birthday party. So on Saturday I am going to get some of the grand kids and have them spend the night and go to the party Sunday. I will probably have 6 of the grand kids Saturday night. That will be fun. I still haven't decided what to cook for dinner. I can make pancakes for breakfast Sunday.

Random Thoughts

  • I had 4 of my grandchildren last weekend. That was a lot of fun and a lot of work.
  • 2 of my daughters had birthdays, one turned 15 the other 24.
  • Another daughter has a birthday this Thursday.
  • We are riding the bikes to Shreveport this weekend, I am excited about that. Some of us girls are going to a Taste of Home Cooking Show while we are there. I am really looking forward to that.
  • I wear boots almost every day to work but today I am wearing sandals. It feels really strange I never wear sandals to work.
  • Zella still ends up waking me up at least a couple of times a night. When I wake up I always have a tough time going back to sleep. I am going to have to start drugging the dog or me.
  • It has been raining for 5 days pretty steady most of the time. It has been great the kids and grand kids have been able to play outside in the rain and they love that. I took the princess out last night and she walked around in the wet grass. That was always one of my favorite things to do as a kid.
  • My idea of a great life would be to not have to work and have a big house so my grand kids could be there all the time.
  • Both of my grandsons have dental work that has to be done. One of them needs quite a bit of work done. Poor guys.

Random Thoughts

  • Breakfast with Grandparents is this Friday. I am very excited about that. I get excited about that every year.
  • The Princess is gone to her Dad's for a couple of days. What am I going to do when they move out? I miss her terribly when she is not there.
  • I got a new broom a few weeks ago. Picked it up at Bed Bath and beyond. I used it again last night I really like that broom.
  • Zella came into the bathroom this morning the roll of toilet paper had fallen on the floor ( I know I know put it on the holder and that can't happen) she picked up the roll and walked out of the bathroom and left me stranded there. SCOTT SCOTT wake up and bring me a roll of toilet paper. That dog is different. She just walked out totally ignoring my pleas. Why would she take the toilet paper?
  • The kids are hearing from their biological Mother again. I worry about them getting hurt. Our daughter said she should pay her child support because her pictures on face book look like they went to Disney Land again this year. What do you say to that? Not what you want to say that's for sure.

Biker Babe

  • She has started playing with my boots. How cute.

  • Well the Princess is a biker babe now. She has her mean face on for effect, you know she never looks like that any other time.
  • Had a shrimp boil at the house on Saturday. Hmmmm that was the best.
  • Went to Red Lobster this weekend, they have endless shrimp right now. The new Terriyaki Shrimp is by far the greatest. Everyone at the table was loving it.
  • Tonight is the first football game, I am excited for him but I have to sit through football games... yuck.
  • We have so many birthdays this month, 5 more days I have one turning 15, in 6 days one turning 24. The princess will be 1 on the 26th.
  • I am taking the kids to Six Flags in a few weeks. They have never been to Fright Fest it will be fun.
  • A lot of us are riding on the bikes to Shreveport this month. I am excited about that, a little apprehensive too. That will be a long ride.
  • I got three books for my birthday and although I liked them all I have to recommend Lime Trees Don't Grow Orange. It was really good.
  • I bought a new book this weekend. By my favorite author Wally Lamb. So far it is very good. The characters are employed at the Columbine High School and the book takes place during the time of the shootings. I will let you know the final verdict as soon as I finish it.
